Qualitative Product Testing: discussion-based evaluations that are moderator-led to understand beyond the survey measures
- Online or in-person, with a few participants
- Conducted before, during or well after product consumption
Central Location Test: consumer testing where screened participants attend a pre-determined session, at a pre-determined time and place
- Product(s) are evaluated onsite, followed by a survey response
- Cannabis cannot be removed from the licensed property
Home Usage Test: consumer testing where screened participants evaluate product(s) in-home, after sourcing from a licensed retailer
- Survey evaluation completed before and after consumption
- Product receipt is required for verification
Trained Sensory Panel: 8-12 individuals with high sensory acuity who meet regularly to measure sensory characteristics of products
- Quantitative results often combined with consumer liking data
- Prototypes, existing and competitive cannabis products
Quality Sensory Testing: an application for a trained panel, production or quality assurance personnel, or consumer panel testing to assess quality in order to produce consistent and replicable products
